Global Development Organisation launched a community-based education initiative in rural Jharkhand to provide skill development and digital literacy training to underserved youth and women. The project aimed to bridge the education gap through short-term courses, mobile training units, and NGO partnerships.
Practical training in computers, communication, and digital tools to boost employability and confidence.
Hands-on learning in electrical work, fire safety, mobile repair, tailoring, and more.
Awareness workshops, career counseling, and digital classroom support for students and educators.
Free training and community learning programs delivered in partnership with NGOs and CSR projects.
We designed modular training programs focused on computer basics, spoken English, fire safety, and vocational skills. Collaborations with local schools and NGOs helped us identify learners, set up training centers, and deliver content in regional languages. Trainers were certified and curriculum aligned with PMKVY and Skill India standards.
Limited access to digital devices, low awareness of career pathways, and lack of trained instructors posed major challenges. We also had to overcome logistical issues in remote blocks and ensure consistent attendance.
We deployed mobile training vans equipped with laptops and solar power, onboarded local trainers, and created bilingual learning modules. Regular follow-ups, community engagement, and NGO support helped us maintain attendance and ensure learning outcomes. Certification and placement support were provided post-training.
Over 1,200 learners trained across 15 blocks in Jharkhand. 70% of participants were women, and 40% secured internships or jobs within 3 months. The project was recognized by local authorities and replicated in nearby districts through CSR partnerships.
